Last minute issues with trailer wheel bearings gave me a late start getting out of Texas. I noticed a tiny green dot on the map that appeared to be a part of the city of Dalhart. This is Lake Rita Blanca Conservation Area and park. I never knew it existed. There was no one else camping there.
Mid evening a middle aged couple and a very old woman came and fished near me. The old woman went about the business of seriously fishing. She was focused and determined. The man went about the business of using fishing as an good reason to consume a few beers. He spaced himself well away from the old woman. The other woman went back and forth between the two talking endlessly. They all spoke Spanish. They were pleasant and peaceful. I was mildly entertained by their interactions. They left about dark. I had the park to myself for a peaceful, easy sleep.
